An update to the Nokia N900's OS is now available to download directly to your handset, although it won't be the treasure-trove of new features that you might have been hoping.
A statement over at the Nokia reveals that the update actually provides little of excitement at all; with the main focus seemingly being to pave the way for the imminent opening of the Ovi Store.
The announcement says to “watch out for a separate announcement for the store opening shortly”, but some users are already claiming success in accessing it at store.ovi.mobi.
As well as prepping the N900 for the Ovi Store's arrival, the update (officially known as version 1.2009.44.1) also brings a few other minor tweaks such as changing some of the icon sizing.
The update is available to download directly OTA or to a PC using the Nokia Software Updater; and rumour has it Nokia is working on a far more exciting major update to bring new functionality and iron out a few of the flaws that still remain.
