Orange App Shop features 2000 applications on launch
Published on Dec 9, 2009
Orange has unveiled its own application shop, named Orange App Shop for the UK and France.
Just like other app stores, Orange App Shop will be available through a link on Orange devices.
The link will take you to an Orange App Shop homescreen, where you can search or browse through 5,000 applications, games, ringtones and wallpapers.
The App Shop will launch with more than 2,000 applications including services such as Orange TV, Orange Games and Orange Maps alongside third party applications.
More than 3,000 ringtones and wallpapers will also be available for download.
Applications are paid for via your Orange phone bill, so you don't have to pre register a credit card or PayPal account as you have to with other services.
Although all Orange customers can access the Orange App Shop over the air, it will come preloaded on handsets including the Nokia 6700 and Sony Ericsson W995, with more devices from Samsung, LG, HTC, Motorola and RIM featuring the link next year.
You can view a video of the Orange App Shop on the Orange Partner website.
