Details of a handset reported to be the Nokia N87 have popped up online suggesting a camera-centric approach for the next iteration in the N-series.
The info surfaced in a video on YouTube and if accurate the N87 will take the traditional touchscreen form factor and feature a sliding section for dedicated multimedia keys, much like the N86.
The device will feature a 3.2-inch 480x800 capacitive touchscreen, 600MHz processor, and up to 16GB internal memory.
More interestingly, the rumoured camera specs suggest a monster 12.1-megapixel snapper with Carl Zeiss optics, Xenon and dual-LED flash – a true challenger for the likes of the Satio and Omnia i8910 HD.
Putting aside the suspect credentials for a moment, there does seem something a little fishy about the video as a whole; but we'd be more than happy to be wrong on this one, as we rather like the idea of a 12-megapixel N87 with sliding multimedia keys.
