Motorola has verified that its mould-breaking Milestone handset will be hitting the shelves of one online retailer on the 7th December.
The Android 2.0 toting Motorola Milestone has been bagged as a UK exclusive for online retailer Expansys, and is live on its site available to pre-order for £449.99 inc. VAT.
For your cash you get a 3.7-inch 480x854 pixel display, 5-megapixel snapper with auto focus and dual-LED flash, A-GPS, Wi-Fi, and HSDPA connectivity. Those more inclined to wait for a subsidised contract-tied handset probably want to keep their eyes on the T-Mobile and Vodafone, both of which have been rumoured as carriers of the new device in the UK.
It's great to get confirmation from Motorola who have until recently been lagging behind a little in the smartphone market and by adopting the Google Android OS Motorola is clearly trying to capitalise on the growing support for the open-source operating system whilst reducing production costs.
With genuinely good touchscreen smartphones like the Dext and Milestone now coming out of its doors, the 7th December may prove to be more than one kind of milestone for Motorola.
