Samsung has announced the development of a new in-house platform for future handsets called Bada

A new operating system called Bada has been launched by Samsung in Korea.
The official press release doesn't give much away, saying only that an SDK will be available to developers from December and that we can expect the first Bada-powered handset in the first half of 2010.
Bada itself is being touted as the platform to bring “rich and connected application experiences” from the smartphone-only sect, to “make these exclusive smartphone experiences available to everyone.”
With the emphasis on operating system clearly playing a more significant part in consumer's mobile purchases most operators are looking carefully at where to go next.
According to HMC Investment Securities, Samsung is planning to stop making Symbian handsets altogether in 2011 and to reduce Windows smartphone output to just 20 percent of its total output by 2012.
