Samsung's 12-megapixel, SCH-W880 handset has been pictured in marketing material with the Taiwanese moniker of the M8920.
The leaked images at the Italian site SamsungHDBLOG.it reveal that the M8920/W880 will feature a camera that puts some dedicated point-and-shoot compacts to shame.
The SCH-W880 will also feature a 3x optical zoom, dual Xenon flash and dedicated hardware buttons to control shooting mode, shutter and zoom.
The Samsung W880 will also be capable of shooting HD video too, at 30fps.
Other features rumoured to be aboard the camera-centric device include a 3.3-inch (WVGA) AM-OLED touchscreen display, HSDPA connectivity, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and microSD support. The Korean release pictured here will also be DMB mobile TV equipped.
Whether or not the handset will be able to pull off the true coup d'état of being an awesome smartphone at the same time as an awesome digital camera, remains to be seen; judging from the appearance of these marketing shots we might not have too long to wait.
