Official shots of the forthcoming Philips Xenium K700 have leaked online

New pictures of the touchscreen Philips Xenium K700 are now doing the rounds, suggesting that its launch may be just around the corner.
The snaps surfaced over at Mobiset.ru, alongside a very middle-of-the-road spec list. From what we can tell of the pictures the handset looks to be more of a featurephone rather than full-on smartphone; with a particular emphasis on media playback.
Highlights of the K700 include a 2.8-inch (400 x 240 pixel) touchscreen display, a 3.2-megapixel camera and microSD support up to 8GB to bolster the paltry 48MB internal memory.
The main disappointment of the K700 seems to be the connectivity, because whilst it sports Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0, data options are limited to Tri-band EDGE, at best.
On the bright side, we're surprised to see dedicated GPU & sound on board a handset that seems bound for the low to mid range of the market.
Despite its shortcomings the K700 is a handsome looking phone to us, and priced correctly, could perhaps find its media-orientated niche.
