Nokia has announced a new tough handset designed to withstand more than its fair share of punishment, the 3720 Classic.
We brought you leaked news of the handsets credentials yesterday and today we bring you the official Nokia announcement of the 3720 Classic.
The phone is IP-54 certified, which means that it is resistant to water, dust and shock damage – though it isn't certified to the IP-67 level of the Sonim S1.
"Whether using it at the beach or in a dusty construction site, the Nokia 3720 classic has been specifically engineered to withstand the splashes, bumps and drops that come with the terrain," boasts the press release.
The specs are pretty much as we reported previously; so that's a 2.2-inch display, GPS, 3.2-megapixel snapper and pre-loaded Nokia maps on a 1GB microSD card.
It will also come in a veritable rainbow of colours, which is good news as we're not that keen on the one pictured here. We are, however, a sucker for a handset with a torch.
The 3720 Classic is due to retail for €125 before tax, and the release date? Well, is “this summer” specific enough for you?
