We7 has revealed that it has plans in the pipeline for releasing a free music-streaming app on the iTunes store

We7, the online free music streaming service, is planning to release an app on the iTunes store in the near future.

According to a statement given to Pocket-Lint.com, “The first version of the We7 iPhone application basically extends the We7 user experience. Its prime function is to deliver your Playlists that you have created together with Featured Playlists Charts, Summer Specials etc etc and access these on the road”.

If the app makes it through Apple's notoriously strict approval process, it will mean that iPhone users will have access to the 3.5+ million tracks in We7's database, from a selection of music labels including indies.

We7 is keeping most of the juicy details close to its chest, and gave no indication of a release date; non-iPhone owners need not despair – there's an Android option in the offing too.
