The SIM-free version of the Nokia 6700 will arrive sooner than we had thought, with it going on sale from the 19th June

Nokia has announced that the successor to its 6300 handset, the 6700, will be available earlier than anticipated and will be flying off the shelves in certain locations a full week before a more widespread launch.
The handset is a no-nonsense affair and despite the official Nokia site listing an unappealing sounding “Monoblock” form factor the phone looks to come with a decent spec list.
There's a 2.2-inch QVGA display, 5-megapixel camera with flash and auto-focus, and A-GPS all on board, plus there's a wealth of connectivity options (excluding Wi-Fi) ranging from GPRS to high speed 10Mbps HSDPA and 2Mbps HSUPA.
The handset will be available from the 19th June from Nokia's Regent Street store, Nokia-branded retail outlets and the official online Nokia shop. It will be available from all other outlets the following week from the 26th June.
If you'd like to take a closer look or pick one up for yourself you can do it over at the Nokia Shop where it's available to pre-order for £269 inclusive of VAT.
