Nokia's N86 has received Federal Communications Commission approval, confirming that it will be released in the US.
The N86 8GB will be the first 8-megapixel camera phone to feature a 28mm lens - so should perform to a high standard.
The camera, with Carl Zeiss Tessar lens includes an AutoFocus function, a mechanical shutter and a dual-LED flash.
Director of the Nseries, Juha-Pekka Sipponen claims that the phone's camera will be "comparable to that of a high-quality, stand-alone digital camera".
The N86 8GB is available in a washed-out shade of black and features an OLED screen so you can view your photos in all their natural glory.
Other notable innovations include a kickstand - meaning that you can flip it out and you will have a video player, picture frame or speaker system.
