Palm Pre set for June 6 release

Palm has announced that the Palm Pre will arrive in the US on June 6 - but there's still no word yet on a UK debut date.

The announcement followed a NY Times story saying that “the season's most compelling phone drama will start in June, when Sprint will begin selling the Palm Pre”.

Palm also revealed that North American customers will pay $200 (£129/€146) for the Pre – although that assumed you've signed up for the $100 mail-in rebate coupon. Palm Pre customers will also have to commit to a 2-year contracr with Sprint.

With the expected release window moving closer, the hype is continuing to build, but before we boil over with excitement here's a quick recap of the specs:
