Reports online suggest that the upcoming T-Mobile G1v2 will be made by Motorola rather than HTC

Published on May 12, 2009

Online whisperings suggest that the T-Mobile G1v2 will not be an HTC device as expected but instead will come from Motorola.

Unlikely as the rumour seems, the usually reliable BoyGeniusReport.com is citing “Kevin” and another “anonymous ninja” as the source of the leak on the Android handset.

The picture shows the G1v2 HTC logo-free and with some “totally crazy wild Moto style” fonts and buttons.

The follow-up to the G1 will come with a large touchscreen display and a landscape sliding Qwerty keyboard.

Other cold hard specs for the device are still yet to surface but it is also rumoured to feature:

  • GPS
  • Wi-Fi
  • HSDPA/HSUPA
  • Bluetooth
  • MicroSD expansion

If the rumours turn out to be true this could be the first of many Motorola Android handsets, we'll let you know of any official announcements or updates.
