RIM is preparing to launch a number of exclusive Bluetooth accessories set to accompany their popular BlackBerry handsets.

A new headset, in-car handsfree kit and video capable remote gateway are all likely to feature in the range in the near future, but the exciting prospect of a RIM Bluetooth watch would prove to be both fashionable and practical.

The timepiece will include alerts when emails, BlackBerry Messenger messages, texts, Tweets and Facebook wallposts are received.

When Antoine Boucher, the BlackBerry accessories Vice-President, was recently asked whether he could confirm whether a Bluetooth accessory was being developed, the VP coyly replied that his team are "exploring many accessories that would surprise people".
