Slimline MDA smartphone gets its official release on the T-Mobile network
Published on May 8, 2009
The MDA Compact V smartphone has hit the T-Mobile shelves here in the UK, and if it looks very familiar, then chances are you must have caught it in its original form, as the HTC Touch Diamond 2.
The new MDA re-brand does not feature the Windows Mobile 6.5 OS, as originally suggested at its pre-launch, but instead has to make do with the more familiar Windows Mobile 6.1.
However, what it may lack in OS capabilities, it more than makes up for in style and substance. The Compact V has a slick, glossy black casing, while also packing a punch with a 3.2-inch touchscreen, HSDPA and WiFi connectivity, a 5-megapixel camera and widget support.
T-Mobile is also throwing in a free 2GB microSD memory card and, should you be among one of the first 10,000 to sign up for an 18-month contract, you will also receive free mobile satellite navigation, courtesy of CoPilot.
