T-Mobile confirms G1 Cupcake update for May release

T-Mobile has finally announced that its Android device, the G1, will be getting its 1.5 ‘Cupcake' software update ready for a spring release.
The network operator also revealed that sales of the G1 handset have now outstripped all other T-Mobile handsets in the UK, and that it is due to reach the 100,000 mark very soon.
The Cupcake update will be issued over the air, and many users will no doubt be desperately eager to utilise the added features of a full touchscreen keyboard and video capture, two of the highlights of the update.
As yet there are no details on T-Mobile's next Android phone, except for one executive who stated that: "We're looking forward to launching another groundbreaking phone on Android later this year".
