Does Vodafone’s iPhone portal spell the end for O2 exclusive?

Vodafone has launched a new dedicated iPhone portal, suggesting that O2's exclusive on the device may be ending

Even though O2 currently still has the exclusive contract to distribute iPhones in the UK, Vodafone is launching a portal dedicated to the iPhone. It features a lot of UK-centric content too, with features and news related to such British things as the BBC, local travel information and Top Gear.
What with Vodafone not being an entirely altruistic, non-profit organisation, we can’t help but wonder if this means that the upcoming new iteration of the iPhone won’t be an O2 exclusive.
The current iPhone model is available to buy SIM-free in the UK, albeit at a hefty price, s further sign that O2’s grip on the money-spinning device is slipping. There’s currently a beta version of the Voadfone iPhone portal available to view online. Check out the site for a preview.
