T-Mobile has announced a new package that includes a BlackBerry Pearl 8110 and a year’s worth of unlimited email and Internet access for just £179.99. It’s a one-off payment too, meaning it’s a bundle that’ll be available off the shelf from T-Mobile stores.
A fair use policy applies to the Internet usage, but it shouldn’t be anything to worry the more casual email and net-browsing users that this deal should appeal to. Normal phone usage- sending texts and making calls- isn’t included, but can be paid for with pay as you go top-up credit.
Waving its friendly ‘pay once’ tagline flag, the deal is a positive step towards making BlackBerrys more accessible for users who may not have used a smartphone before. It’s a sensible move too, considering that the smartphone sector is set to expand rapidly over the next few years.
The phone itself, the Pearl 8110, includes a 2-megapixel camera and GPS. We liked the phone at review, and at least the free internet included in this ‘Pay Once’ deal mitigates somewhat for the handset’s lack of Wi-Fi.
The BlackBerry Pearl 8110 with a year’s free internet and email usage will be available in T-Mobile stores from the 1st May.
