LG's GW610 Windows Mobile phone features square display

Going against the grain, LG's upcoming GW610 Windows Mobile phone is rumoured to feature a square screen

Published on Apr 20, 2009

Rumours circulating on the Internet are suggesting that LG's GW610 will feature a square-screen.

Fairly square screens used to be quite common on low budget phones, although they were pretty dinky, but the LG GW610, with its fairly sizeable 320x320 display, is a bit of an oddity.

Unfortunately, no pictures of the device are currently available.

The GW610 runs on Windows Mobile and has a 2-megapixel camera and HSDPA connectivity. We’re still waiting for more official details on the device though.

With phone screens tending towards thinner and longer designs, the GW610’s stubby square offering almost seems like a joke at Windows Mobile’s expense, especially since LG hasn’t released a great many Windows phones. However, we’ll reserve further judgement on the GW610 at least until we get to see some more specs and images of the device.
