AT&T is reportedly looking to secure an extension to its lucrative iPhone exclusivity deal in America until 2011

A report online has indicated that the current iPhone exclusivity agreement in the US may stay in place with AT&T until at least 2011.
If the deal, which accounts for a part of AT&T's 77 million wireless customer base, goes ahead it will come as a blow for Verizon who was rumoured to be looking to secure the next-gen iPhone exclusivity in this territory.
Neither Apple, nor AT&T would comment directly on the matter to the WallStreetJournal Online, but the Cupertino-based company's spokeswoman did say "We have a great relationship with AT&T."
Whether this means we will see a similar move on our side of the pond with the current exclusivity holder, O2, remains to be seen. We're thinking that O2 will probably do anything it can to make it happen given the interest in Apple's golden goose.
We'll let you know if we hear any announcements concerning exclusivity here in the UK just as soon as we catch wind of it.
