Information about the Nokia 5530 has leaked online and seems to indicate that the device will be part of the XpressMusic range and will hit the shelves in September this year.
The 5530 handset looks to be a slightly less featured version of the existing 5800 XpressMusic device and will come sporting a 2.9-inch touchscreen display, a 3.2-megapixel snapper, HSDPA and Wi-Fi.
We don't have a whole lot more to tell spec wise, but the 5530 will come with all the usual accoutrements of any self-respecting mid-range handset including FM radio, Bluetooth and a microSD expansion slot to bolster the 150MB of internal storage. Thankfully, it seems Nokia has been kind enough to offer a standard 3.5mm headphone socket rather than a proprietary solution.
Given the touting of XpressMusic credentials the handset will no doubt be compatible with the Ovi Store too.
If you'd like to know more you can check out the source of the leak over at Swedish mobile site DailyMobile.se.
We'll bring you news of any official announcements when we get them but we can't help but feel that the 5530 sounds like it might struggle in today's marketplace let alone in another 5 months when the competition has launched reams of new handsets.
