Palm Pre launching in the US on the 17th May

According to information online, US carrier Sprint may be releasing the Palm Pre on Sunday 17th May

Internet screenshots indicate that the Palm Pre may be launching around the 17th May on one US network.

The report over at engadgetmobile.com shows that the hot new touchscreen phone from Palm may be available in the US on the Sprint network sometime during the third week of May.

The image shows that the US carrier is looking to have scheduled delivery of stock before 16th May suggesting that they'll be on the shelves in the following days.

The Palm Pre features a 320x480 3.1-inch touchscreen, Qwerty keyboard and will of course come sporting the new Palm webOS operating system.

We're not sure exactly when the Pre will get a UK release but if accurate, the rumoured 17th of May launch in the US will be a little later than the report we posted last month indicating a release date of the 31st April.
