More details about touchscreen Nokia devices have been leaked online

Information about an ultra-slim touchscreen device known as the Nautilus and a new MID from Nokia have come to light.

A report over at TheStreet.com indicates that the first of the touchscreen devices will be a MID packing a 4.2-inch touchscreen display behind which will be a sliding QWERTY keyboard. This as-yet unnamed handset is rumoured to be hitting our shelves on the happy side of Christmas.

The second, far more Star Trek sounding device, is codenamed the Nautilus and will apparently ship with some futuristic features including a proximity sensor-esque automatic extension and retraction of the tucked away Qwerty. That's not all though, when the keyboard is extended the keys reportedly rise to enable easier operation.

Whilst it sounds a little far fetched we reported only yesterday that Nokia had three new touchscreen devices in the works and over at Pocketlint.com a Nokia exec strongly hinted that the company was working on a new “gesture based” interface.

We'll keep you updated on any official word but it's likely to be a while off with the Nautilus apparently a year away at the earliest.
