Google has introduced some new features for mobile users of its email service to improve functionality and performance.
Google Mail mobile users can now read recently read messages and compose new mail whilst offline as part of the improvements to the service. Google also claims that general navigation will be whole lot faster thanks to the use of new technologies.
It seems as if it's a general overhaul for Google mobile with a look that's more consistent with the desktop counterpart and generally improved usability with the introduction of better labels and a floating shortcut bar for managing messages.
In compatibility terms iPod owners with software version 2.2.1 or beyond are good-to-go, as are all Android owners. If you'd like to check out the new features, then point your mobile browser at Gmail.com and take a peek for yourself.
