Published on Apr 7, 2009

The BlackBerry Storm 2 is to be released September this year, according to a US website.

A source reported to SlashGear that Verizon has given Canadian Company RIM the all clear to start developing the new phone.

The Storm 2 will utilise a touchscreen like the original, as well as having Wi-Fi capabilities and apparently, a 5-megapixel camera.

Boy Genius Report has also set rumours flying, saying that the new type of screen to appear on the Storm 2 will 'make typing "really pleasurable"', and it'll be called TruePress, not SurePress as it has current been named.

It is unconfirmed as yet whether the Storm 2 will be available in the UK.
