T-Mobile launches recession-busting Nokia 1661 Classic at CTIA Wireless
Published on Apr 3, 2009
T-Mobile has announced the no-frills Nokia 1661 Classic at CTIA 09 in Las Vegas.
The device is a seriously bare-bones piece of kit and comes lacking the standard features of today's mobiles. Camera? Nope. Bluetooth? Nope. Music or video player? Nope.
In fact, what the handset does come with is rounded edges, quad-band GSM connectivity and a 1.8-inch colour display.
The upside of the low-end feature set is that the handset weighs in at a feather-weight 82g and the battery can last for around 20 days on standby.
There's no word on availability or pricing just yet but if you're on the look-out for a budget, light-weight mobile that you can take away on holiday without fear of losing your expensive smartphone then this could be the one for you.
