We take a look at Blackberry's new App World application store
Published on Apr 2, 2009
Blackberry has launched its App World application store and we had the chance to preview it.
The interface of the application store is pretty simple, with the featured apps appearing on the homepage in a side-scrolling interface.
Below the featured apps are four sections, the first of which is Categories where you can view applications by category (games, entertainment, mapping etc).
Click on a category and you're presented with a list of apps in that genre.
The second menu along the bottom of the app store is Top Downloads that are updated every week. The third icon is Search, where you can search for a particular app and the final folder is My World where all of your downloaded apps are saved to.
When you select an app, you can download it (where you're directed to PayPal if it's not free), view reviews, recommend it to a friend or have a look at screenshots. If you scroll down further on the product page, you'll see some information provided by the developer.
