Nokia has announced an app that turns its standard zoom camera phone into an electronic magnifying glass
Published on Mar 24, 2009
Nokia Magnifier has been developed by Nokia Beta Labs as part of a much broader innovative that Nokia has put in place, which is the Nokia Accessibility program.
The application uses the phone’s zoom camera and adds a higher degree of stability to the device, reducing hand shake, thus making it easier to read small print, for example.
Nokia Magnifier also adds a slice of sharpening effect to images, so they appear sharp and in the case of text, easier to read.
Nokia hopes that this program will help disabled users make the most of their handsets.
Nokia's Accessibility program is an ongoing initiative with a whole of apps and services being developed.
