Nokia's MOSH to close; Ovi to open

Nokia will be closing the doors on its troublesome mobile sharing service MOSH in favour of the new Ovi store

Published on Mar 20, 2009

Nokia's MOSH service which allows users to download mobile content is set to close its doors in the near future.

The current store currently offers apps, wallpapers, themes, backgrounds to users via direct download to their mobiles. The Finnish company have however received some criticism of the service distributing pirated and adult material to the millions of users of MOSH.

The closure of the service suggests that the replacement Ovi store is looking on track for its expected opening in May.

Similarly to other mobile vendors offerings, the Ovi store will offer Nokia owners the opportunity to download videos, games, applications and a range of other content directly to their handset on both a free and paid-for basis.

Pricing structures for the new store has not yet been revealed but Nokia is expected to give more details next month at its Developer Summit.
