Nokia-owned Symbian Foundation has decided on most of the core features for the next two versions of its massively popular operating system and have sketched out details beyond that too.

In a recent report on computerworlduk.com there were several revelations concerning the now Nokia-owned Symbian Foundation. One of the most exciting pieces of information is that it is planning to release a new version of its operating system every six months and with the proliferation of the platform as it is this should certainly keep the likes of Blackberry and Apple on their respective toes.

Accompanying this is the news that the Finnish-based mobile company have already decided on the majority of the features that will be present in the next two versions of the software but it has decided to keep schtum about the details right now.

What we do know about the upcoming versions is that they will be imaginatively titled Symbian^2, Symbian^3 and Symbian^4 and according to comments from David Wood, executive VP of research at the foundation “the content of Symbian^4 is much more open for debate.”
