Agant Limited has launched the official National Rail app for iPhone and iPod Touch owners

The official National Rail route-planner app is available now from the iTunes store priced £4.99.
The app tracks live progress of arrivals and departures at all National Rail stations including platform information.
To help minimise nasty surprises to your commuting route the app will also update information about delays, planned engineering work or cancellations to any part of the journey.
More than just providing access to the National Rail journey planner though the app utilises the on board GPS and mapping software to provide directions to the nearest or recently used stations. There's also 'Next Train Home' feature which finds the nearest station and next train to get you to your set 'Home' destination.
If you want to get your hands on this app and put an end to being at the mercy of public transport you can hop on over to the iTunes app store where you can download it now for £4.99.
