Samsung has revealed the candybar Lucido with a 5-megapixel camera and GPS.
Lucido translates from Italian to ‘sleek’, which tells you a lot about what you need to know about the handset’s design intentions. Unsurprisingly then, it’s slim at 11.8mm thick, although the AMOLED screen is relatively dinky at 2.2 inches.
The Lucido features a 5-megapixel camera complete with autofocus, face detection and smile sensor technology. The microSDHC slot can deal with up to 8GB capacity cards, offering storage for a few thousand full quality photos from the onboard camera.
Other features packed into the diminutive handset include A-GPS, allowing geo-tagging of photos, plus strong multimedia support thanks to H.264, H.263, WMV and MPEG4 compatibility. Video can also be recorded using the camera, at QVGA resolution, 15fps.
The Lucido supports 7.2Mbps HSDPA connectivity, allowing for speedy online access and media streaming. It’s due to launch in the UK in April and, according to UK Vice-President Mark Mitchinson, has ‘all the hallmarks associated with quality and sublime style’.
