Motorola 5-megapixel touchscreen spotted

Rumours suggest that Motorola could be preparing a 5-megapixel touchscreen camera phone for release soon
Published on Feb 24, 2009
A new camera-centric handset may be on the horizon from mobile phone manufacturer Motorola.
Pictures posted on Engadget.com indicate that if this rumour is true the handset will come with a well specced 5-megapixel snapper as well as a spacious touchscreen display.
Also present in the pictures are a Xenon flash to complement the camera, and a TV-out port.
With no official announcements as yet we're unsure what to expect running under the hood; Symbian? Windows Mobile 6.5? Google Android? Whatever it is hopefully it won't be the current Motorola in-house OS, which is underwhelming at best.
Whether the handset will make it to market any time soon, or if the presumably touchscreen enabled device will aid Motorola's ailing mobile division is unclear but it's the best shot we've seen for the Schaumburg based company in quite a while.
