Garmin is set to partner with ASUS on its upcoming Nuvifone G60

Published on Feb 5, 2009

SatNav specialists Garmin has called on ASUS's smartphone credentials to help it launch the Nuvifone G60.

Conceived and announced  in 2008, the Nuvifone promised a 3.5-inch display with which Garmin could put its own GPS expertise and touchscreen real-estate to good use.

The handset was originally intended for release at the end of last year but faced delays until Q1 2009. Whether or not this new partnership will add another delay is as yet unclear.

According to Wired.com the partnership will result in a new range of phones under the branding of the Garmin-ASUS Nuvifone series, one of which will be this model - the G60.

As seems par for the course with this handset; we don't have any details regarding availability or pricing, but we really hope that this new collaboration finally gets the handset to market before 2010!
