A representative of T-Mobile has confirmed that work is under way on new 3G and Google Android OS powered handsets for release later in the year.
Reported on CNET as saying "As the year progresses there will be a significant number of HSPA-capable smartphones. We will be launching more G series phones and other products.”
Whilst not an announcement of any specific model, this is as close to official confirmation as we have heard concerning the much-rumoured second Android handset from T-Mobile.
However, it seems likely that T-Mobile will face tougher competition second time around with a host of other manufacturers joining the open-source handset drive, pledging to release their own Android models in the coming months.
