Rumours suggest that the INQ1 will be available on alternative networks this year

Published on Jan 22, 2009

The INQ1 may soon be available on networks other than 3 Mobile, thereby ending the current exclusivity deal.

The rumours have been spotted on Mobile Industry Review, which says the INQ1 is “attracting quite a bit of demand.“

The boss of INQ told Mobile Industry Review that “talks with operators are going very well, and we definitely expect it to be available on other networks this year.“

The success of the INQ1 lies in the great implementation of social networking features in a neat and affordable package, providing users with useful features such as 'always on' status updates and a universal inbox for messages.

With the promise of new INQ handsets not too far on the horizon such interest in a relatively low-end device must be great news for the privately owned mobile manufacturer.

We're interested to see what the next few models will bring, rumour has it there will soon be an INQ with a QWERTY keyboard, we'll keep our ears open to see what comes next.
