Vodafone bids on Wayfinder navigation

Network giant Vodafone reveals it will put in a bid for the Swedish navigation company Wayfinder

Mobile phone operator Vodafone is putting in a bid to buy navigation company Wayfinder.

The intention of Vodafone to put in a bid for Wayfinder may come as a bit of a surprise in the current economic climate but the Newbury-based company is looking to further integrate location-based services and functionality within its portfolio.

If successful, we wonder how the Wayfinder business model will be directed moving forward but we do imagine that we will be seeing Wayfinder navigation services bundled with new handsets as well as a flurry of other location-driven features such as personalised internet services and perhaps even targeted advertising.
