3 has signed a deal with Sky to offer Sky TV content on the 3 mobile network

3 Mobile has signed a deal with Sky to offer the satellite TV company's content on the 3 mobile network.

The deal follows the launch of 3's Facebook phone last week and is the latest sign of its determination to put internet access and services at the heart of 3's mobile proposition.

The Sky Mobile TV service is already available on the T-Mobile, Orange and Vodafone networks but it is the first time that it has become available on 3 Mobile. The service (across all networks) already has more than 200,000 monthly subscribers, at a cost of £5 per month or £1 per day.

Obviously prepay data charges aren’t going to prove very cost effective for those that want to watch TV on the go, but data bundles are available from 3 at a cost of £2.50 per 10MB. Just keep an eye on your usage to see what works out best for you.
