Aimed directly at business users, ASUS has announced that the P565 will be an 800Mhz-powered PDA that comes with a 2.8-inch VGA screen on which to display the Windows Mobile Office applications, business card recognition software and push email services.

The inclusion of the 'world’s fastest mobile processor' is intended to facilitate multi-tasking and increase productivity. When you tire with all that super-efficient working or just have five minutes downtime between meetings you can kick back, relax, and listen to your MP3s or watch your videos at the slide of a finger.

This ‘Glide’ UI operation is said to provide easy navigational access for the onboard apps; selecting, zooming, scrolling and flipping at the glide of a finger. It should at least make access and operation of the EziPhoto and EziMusic applications more straight forward.

It’s a bit of a shame that it only comes with 256MB of internal memory as you will get through that pretty quickly with the onboard 3-megapixel camera, but it does at least support SDHC microSD cards. Sadly too, it will be running Windows Mobile 6.1 which we find a bit of a pig to use but you can’t have everything now can you.

Pricing and release dates are as yet unknown.
