Nokia has taken the wraps of its E63 Qwerty keyboard-packing smartphone, a multimedia messaging device that's aimed at consumers as well as business users.
Targeted at 'people who need to manage their business and personal lives equally well', the latest newcomer to the Eseries is based on Nokia's successful E71, with a full Qwerty keyboard and a large landscape QVGA display.
Although available in consumer-friendly colour options - ultramarine blue or ruby red - the E63 has a similarly extensive lineup of corporate messaging and remote working capabilities as the E71, enabling users to check their corporate email, view and update calendars, and work on their corporate intranet.
Like the E71 and other Eseries devices, it offers 3G HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, and supports Mail for Exchange as well as other corporate email solutions. It has dedicated keys for main functions such as contacts, calendar and email.
But it's also geared up for personal email and social networking functions, with users being able to switch from business to personal modes at the press of a button - so users can have personlised home screens for both work and social lives.
A typically hefty package of Symbian S60 smartphone features and applications are included, with a music player (and a 3.5mm headphone socket), RealPlayer video player, full web browser, 2-megapixel camera with video capture capability, and MicroSD card support up to 8GB.
E63 owners will also have access to Nokia's Files on Ovi service, providing remote access to PC files, with 1GB of online file storage included free.
The E63 will be available within the next few weeks with priced at around 199 Euro (around £164) for the handset without contract.
