iRiver's answer to the iPhone?

Korean manufacturer ReignCom has announced that its similarly monikered iRiver division will have a touch-screen rival for the iPhone by March 09

Dubbed the 'Wave', this model was discussed way back at CES in January of this year but further details have been slow to surface.

We can now confirm that when the handset makes it to market early next year (in Korea at least!) it will come with a 3-inch touchscreen, Wi-Fi, a Dictionary, a media player that can handle music and videos just like and iRiver PMP, handwriting recognition software and access to an iTunes-like music store called "Bug Music Service".

Details of a European release or pricing are yet to be announced but expect to hear more from us on the Wave soon.
