O2 is opening up its Xda smartphone range for Pay&Go pre-pay buyers with the compact, consumer-friendly Xda Zest

O2 has taken the wraps off a the Xda Zest, a new consumer Windows Mobile smartphone that will be available for Pay&Go buyers as well as pay monthly contract customers - the first time O2 has offered one of its Xda devices to on its pre-pay option.
The O2 Xda Zest, which will hit the shops on 17 November, is a compact Windows Mobile 6.1 device, featuring HSDPA high-speed data connectivity and Wi-Fi support, and comes with A-GPS satellite navigation gadgetry inside.
Packing a 2.8-inch touchscreen, the Xda Zest has been designed exclusively for O2 by Asus. It features a full suite of Windows Mobile 6.1 apps, including Office Mobile and Outlook Mobile.
It has a 3-megapixel camera plus onboard music and video player facilities, and FM radio. It will come packaged with a two-week trial of CoPilot Sat Nav software, containing GPS mapping info for the whole of the UK and Ireland.
The O2 Xda Zest will be sold in O2 stores and online from www.o2.co.uk, priced at £249.99 on Pay&Go, and from free on certain O2 pay monthly contract deals.
