Touch-screen N-series on the way

Nokia has hinted that Nseries touchscreen devices are on the cards as top execs promise touchscreen compatible N-Gage games before year end, despite not having a device that supports N-Gage and touch

Nokia has indirectly hinted that touchscreen N-Gage compatible Nokia handsets will be with us by year end.

Head of gaming operations at Nokia, Jaakko Kaidesoja, has confirmed that work is well underway on plenty of touchscreen compatible N-Gage games.

Nokia is aiming to have 30 games available by the time everyone is singing Auld Lang Syne down the local at the year's end.

What we’re inferring from this is that there will be new Nseries handsets on which to play these games as currently the only touchscreen device, the 5800 XpressMusic, does not support N-Gage.

There haven't been any official announcements as yet but the marketing director of Nokia India let slip that "We will have lot of touch-screen phones coming up, including an Nseries device very soon".

So there we have it, and with plans for gaming expansion including 30 titles before the year is out, we would be surprised if one of these new handsets doesn’t start making waves in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for more info as it breaks.
