RIM launches application store

RIM follows Apple and Google by launching an application store

In an attempt to battle against other smartphone manufacturers such as Apple and Google, RIM has launched its own application store.

Developers can create applications for the mostly closed-source platform which is great news for us consumers.

Hopefully this means that BlackBerry users will soon be able to download a whole host of third party apps onto their mobile.

But, does this mean every device will have the same applications and will essentially become exactly the same, despite the OS? Why not join the debate by posting your comments below?
