MWC 2012: Nokia Pure View Imaging coming to all future Nokia smartphones

Nokia will be bringing its Pure View Imaging technology as seen on the Pure View 808 to all future smartphones

Nokia has confirmed that the Pure View audio and video technologies as seen on the Pure View 808 will be inside all the company's future smartphones, including Windows Phone devices.

The Nokia 808 Pure View is a show stealer and no other Mobile World Congress phone will trump the camera's sensor. No matter how great your camera is, you simply can't beat 41-megapixels.

The disappointment with the Nokia Pure View 808 is the operating system. Nokia has chosen to run the device on Symbian, because the tech was in developemnt before Nokia partnered with Microsoft.

Time constraints meant Nokia could not develop the tech fast enough for it to roll out onto Microsoft's mobile OS.

However, don't expect to see massive overkill 41-megapixel sensors in future Nokia smartphones. As the imaging technology has three layers, sensor, optics and software, it will be mostly available in lower res sensors.

Nokia is once again reaffirming its position as a top camera maker, following on from the Nokia N8.
