iPhone SatNav app defies Apple rules
A new iPhone application has defied Apple's rules by launching a SatNav app for the touchscreen device
At last someone has conquered Apple's strict rules on application creation, by launching a third party SatNav app.
G-Map, by XRoad is designed to work using only GPS, and features maps onboard so you don't need a data connection at all to download them.
The download is a rather space grabbing 700MB, and it's not even clear yet whether you can get turn-by-turn directions even though the manufacturer promises that you can 'get directions'.
In addition to normal 2D maps, you can view road junctions in 3D, plus Points of Interest (which you can then call by tapping the phone number on the map).
Although there's no evidence of G-Map on the UK Apple App Store, it is available in the US...
