Sony Ericsson does the hard work with Near Me service
Sony Ericsson has announced that its new Near Me service will be launched on the C905
We've been wondering why the Sony Ericsson C905 has been delayed by so long, and now we know why.
The Sony Ericsson C905 will be the first device to come preloaded with the company's Near Me service that helps you find local businesses, amenities, venues and events straight from your GPS enabled phone.
Near Me is free and will include a whole lot of content including cinema, club and gig listings, so you don't have to trawl through pages and pages of content on the Internet.
Here's the number cruncher:
- There are more than 11,000 recommended venues for eating and drinking in
- And 1.9 million business search listings with maps
It all sounds pretty good to us. You can even select locations from pre-stored favourites or search any location to find the details.
For some venues, you can also find details on what's on, when and for how much.
The service is also available to download onto the Sony Ericsson C702 and W760 handsets.
