Know Your Mobile seeks Indian writer

Know Your Mobile is looking for an Indian journalist/editor to help boost our coverage of the fast-growing Indian mobile phone market.

The ideal candidate would be a journalist working for an existing Indian mobile phone magazine, blog or website who has a good understanding of the industry and a bulging contacts book.

The role will be a varied one: writing news, reviews, user guides from an Indian market perspective as well as fostering community links and promoting user-generated content.

Know Your Mobile is the UK's fastest growing mobile phone website with over 380,000 unique users a month. It is part of Dennis Publishing, whose other online brands include Maxim, PC Pro, MacUser, IT Pro, Auto Express and Monkey.

General skills:

Excellent grasp of English, both spoken and written
Good social skills and ability interact well with others socially and professionally
An analytical mind – ability to parse data quickly from Google Analytics, for instance
Good organisation and timekeeping skills
Heavy internet consumer and deep consumer knowledge of browsers, email, bulletin boards, search engines etc.

Journalistic skills:

Experience in technology journalism and reviews essential
Background in mobile phone with a full contact book highly desirable
Online experience extremely useful
Willingness to work with the advertising teams essential and an open mind to sponsorships, cross-promotions etc

Internet skills:

Knowledge of basic HTML desirable
Basic image editing (Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, Fireworks) desirable
Knowledge of content management systems, FTP software, etc. useful
Search optimisation experience would be useful
