Sony Ericsson 12-megapixel cameraphone rumours
Sony Ericsson rumours suggest a 12-megapixel cameraphone is on its way under the CyberShot brand
Handset manufacturers just love their resolutions when it comes to producing a new phone, so it's not surprising that Sony rumours are circulating regarding a 12-megapixel snapper.
The difference with this device though, is that there are also possibilities of a Nokia 5800 XpressMusic-style touchscreen making an appearance, and the device may operate on Symbian.
As a CyberShot handset, the new codenamed Kokura will probably still not feature a 3.5mm headphone jack like the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, neither will it have a standard mini or micro USB socket, because Sony Ericsson doesn't like to fit in with the rest of the mobile world.
What will come as a relief to many people though, is the change from Memory Stick to microSD card format.
We think the device will probably be announced in early 2009, so watch this space!

Will the codenamed Kokura 12-megapixel camera have any resemblance to Sony Ericsson's latest touchscreen device, the Xperia X1?
