Rumours suggest the iPad 3 will be released in the first week of March

The iPad 3 will get released in the first week of March, if the latest rumour is to be believed.
Sources of website AllThingsD have said Apple will debut the iPad 2's successor in the first week of March at a special event in San Francisco.
Originally, it was claimed Apple was going to hold a special February event, but that rumour has since been quashed by multiple sources.
AllThingsD's sources go on to claim the next iPad, whatever it's called, will boast a much faster chip, even better graphics and a 2048x1536 display.
In terms of aesthetics the device is said to be very similar to the iPad 2. But does this mean it'll be called the iPad 2S like the iPhone 4S before it?
It is certainly possible but with Apple nothing is certain. Adding Siri, a Retina Display and some new internal hardware will be enough to ensure that Apple sells a boatload of devices.
Don't believe us? Check out the iPhone 4S sales figures. To say they're impressive would be something of an understatement.
Short of a pretty major leak before the announcement, Apple's insistence on not commenting on rumour or speculation means we'll have to wait until early March to see how many of the rumours were true, including this one.
Until then, here's our round-up of what's been bouncing around the internet: iPad 3: Everything we know.
